Lviv Tobacco Factory (former castle), Vynnyky
Lviv tobacco factory in the town was Vynnyky during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It was the first in Vynnyky shops, where tobacco leaves produced snuff mixture and cut tobacco. Produced enjoyed tremendous demand, so the Austrian authorities abolished all special decree Vynnykivske shops, instead of creating a tobacco factory.
Company History
In place of the modern factory once stood Vynnykivske castle. His story begins far in the 13th century. Then the castle was made of wood. But in the 17-18 century fortress became a stone. This fortress had serious defensive value. Proof of this - found in the castle in 1782, two guns, and in 1990 - the iron core.
From July 1756 to October 15, 1776 in Vynnykivske castle monastery was PR.
In 1779 Lviv tobacco factory was transferred to the premises Vynnykivske castle. Since then and to this day the city is associated with the production of tobacco products.
Even in Soviet times, Tobacco Factory has become one of the best enterprise which is engaged in manufacturing tobacco products. Every year the factory produced about 14 billion cigarettes! Popular were non-filter cigarettes (70% from the previous amount).
"Orbit", "Lviv" "Prima", "Space", "Verkhovyna" - all these cigarettes were produced in a tobacco factory. And until 1982 the company operated a special department, which produced souvenir sets cigarettes "Taras Bulba", "Three heroes", "Gaydamak." They enjoyed tremendous demand among foreigners.
In 1993 on the site of the factory was established enterprise "RDzhR" Tobacco Lviv ". It lasted 5 years. In 1998 it closed, and all the equipment transported to the city of Kremenchug .
In 1999 was created Ltd. "Lviv tobacco factory." Over a period of time at the factory began production decline. Officially it was opened again on 1 February 2007. Interesting is the fact that Lviv tobacco factory does not bring any money in the treasury Vynnyky, because the company is registered in another city.
