The Tokmak Local History Museum

History Tokmak City Museum of Local History
Creating a regional museum in Tokmak decided to count since 1966. It was then that the plant was organized Kirov Museum of military and labor glory. Then he worked as a volunteer. Even later, in 1967, at the station of young naturalists also created the city`s first museum of local history. Its opening was timed to the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. He also worked on a voluntary basis.
In 1978, the district committee of the party moved to the new building and its former premises on two floors under the arrangement gives the museum. The building has a historical and architectural value. It was built in 1900 and belongs to the buildings of the old town. Today in Tokmak such buildings there were only 14.
Initially, the work of the museum staff were sent from the local House of Culture, and were involved in various enterprises of the city for the production of various models and stands required the museum. In 1981 was reorganized, the result of which was that the museum did Tokmak branch Melitopol museum.
The first exhibition in the museum was opened in May 1985, it was housed in 14 rooms and covers an area of 525 m². In 1989 Tokmak History Museum became a separate museum in the city of Tokmak. In this form it exists today.

The building has 14 exhibition halls of the museum, where you can learn the history and art masters Tokmak region:
- The hall dedicated to the nature of the region are located the remains of the skeleton of a large elephant, brought to the attention of stuffed animals and birds listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.
- In the hall of "Archaeology" are artifacts that scientists have found during the excavation of ancient burial mounds. You can see pottery, knives, plates, stone knives and axes.
- The museum presents an exhibition of samovars manufactured in a factory VS Batashov, porcelain factory Kuznetsov, vintage watch the most famous factories in Europe at the time, a beautiful old gramophone, agricultural implements and pottery. You can see the model of the first tractor factory "Zaporozhets", created in the USSR, a collection of tiles. The exposition is supplemented photographs and production plants Firchow and Kleiner.
