National Reserve "Homeland of Taras Shevchenko"
Scenic Reserve "Homeland Taras Shevchenko" - a large historic park, which has gained national status in the 1990s. Even before the independence of Ukraine in these parts was a memorial museum of the outstanding poet, who became the favorite place of tourists and admirers of Shevchenko.
First neighboring village Shevchenkovo, Olshana, Budishche and Morintsy were identified as the birthplace of Shevchenko in 1914. Cultural figures bought a small house in which spent his childhood and early years of the writer. Next to him in the 1930s opened a museum with full expositions, narrating the life story of the poet. Over the past decade, the memorial center has increased significantly. Today you can see a small sculpture of Taras, set in the yard and inside the house, unique objects of everyday life of his family, a well-preserved, and even his mother`s grave. Most items are restored to the original sketches of the Shevchenko, with traditional embroidered towels, crockery and holy icons.
Thanks to the hard work of local historians, in the territory of the reserve, if the move in time hundreds of years ago. Here also whiten the walls of Ukrainian hut with a thatched roof, favorite flowers are blooming in the yard and you can see the fence, which became the hallmark of the decoration and all the local farms.
