Church of the Saviour in Poltava - a unique historical and architectural monument, made ​​in ancient style. This is one of the oldest temples of Poltava.

Originally the temple was a side chapel of the Transfiguration Church. The first recorded mention of it in the documents, which date from the end of the XVII century.

In 1704, near the gate of the fortress of Poltava Kurilovskaya Transfiguration church burned down. In the years 1705-1706 the abbot I. Svitaylo using Spark IV erected in its place of wood, with solid oak Savior Church.
