Dominican Cathedral in Tyvriv

Dominican church in Tyvrove called old Catholic monastic complex, which was founded in the late 18th century. He has impressive size, forming the whole economy, with a courtyard, a garden and a nearby abandoned fountain, once adorned the walls of the monastery cozy.

In the period up to the mid-1500s on the site of the Dominican church there was a small wooden church, which after the destruction of the cornet Kalitinsky decided to erect a large Catholic church. His first stones were laid in 1742, and the completion of the shrine were in 1760, and the cells settled exclusively monks of the Dominican Order. Temple at the monastery had a significant impact, he was one of the richest and most beautiful buildings in the district. The luxurious interior is of considerable quantities of precious icons and murals. Unfortunately, these beauties have not lived up to our days in its entirety, as in the 20th century the church was used as a technical room - there was a factory.

In recent years, an architectural and historical monument returned to the Catholic community. Dominican church diligently restored by restoring the roof and walls with great legendary history. One of the halls of the temple became active again, there are regular services. The park, which is located next to the church, are the remains of the fortress castle, deserve attention and stone crosses on Black Mountain.
