Saint James Church
Church of St. James was built in 1785-1787 years at the expense of the magistrates Ignatius hundredweight. It was built on the site of a wooden church, founded in 1425. Made holy in the neoclassical style of stone by the famous D. Merlini.
The facade was decorated with a portico with Ionic columns Order Frieze stone covered with garlands, located on the front of the bas-reliefs, and on the sides preserved niches for statues. The church is located 7 altars.
The walls were covered with pictures of saints, which, unfortunately, did not survive. One of the paintings - "The Crucifixion", refers to the school of Rubens.
Unfortunately, from its former greatness save some, as in 1939, most of the monuments were destroyed during the battle with the Nazis. In Soviet times, the church was located in the factory premises. To date, the church is in disrepair.
Next to the synagogue is a reminder of the 19th century, also in disrepair, and the ancient wooden church iconostasis of the 17th century.
