Manor Paul Engelhardt

The history of the estate of Paul Engelhardt is closely linked with the name of the famous Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko. Paul Engelhardt, a large landowner in   1828 builds himself a summer house on the outskirts of the village Budishche.   Among the many workers in the service of the Pan   hits a young serf Taras Shevchenko.   With Paul Taras Shevchenko travels around the world, thanks Engelhardt   Shevchenko visited Vilnius and St. Petersburg.   Next to the estate was planted park - in one of the old oaks park young Taras hid his drawings.

The estate was owned by Paul Engelhardt until 1918. In Soviet times, the manor house was located eight-year school.   By the 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko in the estate were started restoration work. According to the project, has been renovated facade of the building were recreated gazebo and park alleys, restored wine cellar, also recreated house estate manager. The homestead is planned to open a museum of Taras Shevchenko.
