Korsun-landscaped park
Korsun-Shevchenko park - a monument of landscape art. It was founded in 1782 on the orders of Prince Stanislaw Poniatowski in the style of the English landscape parks on several islands of the river Ros. Clear composition in the park is not: a lot of alleys, which are intertwined with each other, offer visitors a new scenery. This park is different from many other parks in Ukraine, because of its very nature has created, not the people. From 1787 to 1789 was an active construction of the park, there appeared gazebo for relaxing, benches and arbours, ancient Greek temple, triumphal arch, an Egyptian temple carved into the rock grotto. The park was located zoo, in the halls kept peacocks and pheasants. Until the early 20th century, Korsun-Shevchenko garden was one of the best parks in Ukraine.
After the revolution, since 1918, the park began to decline. In Soviet times, he was named the "Park of the Lenin." In the 80s of the 20th century, it was decided to hold a large-scale reconstruction in the park territory ennobled, opened several sculptures: the song "Ian and Natalka" stele based on the works of Taras Shevchenko, built a bridge and found a gazebo.
Now the park there are about 300 species of plants, among them there are rare species. One of the most unique places in the park - a chestnut, who liked to rest under Taras Shevchenko, now under the chestnut tree that every tourist can imagine what the poet dreamed of watching the beautiful scenery of Korsun-Shevchenko garden. In the park there are 6 bridges, recreation areas. Korsun-landscaped park is part of Korsun-Shevchenko Historical and Cultural Reserve and is open to visitors.
