Bust Vincent Hvoytsi
At 50 kilometers from Kiev , in the village of Tripoli, near the regional archaeological museum is a bust of outstanding scientist and archaeologist Vikentiy Khvoyka.
Vikentiĭ Khvoĭka - discoverer of Tripoli culture in the Kyiv region. It was he during excavations in Cyrillic altitudes discovered the first mammoth bones, trace and proof of residence in these places of ancient people. So was opened Cyril Paleolithic, there were about 20 thousand years ago.
Later, the researcher discovered the first cultural monuments near the village of Tripoli. The finds were the discovery of new archaeological culture - Trypil`ska. Hvoyka stirred up the whole world, because the oldest hitherto considered Sumerian civilization.
His contribution to the history and culture of Ukraine is truly great. Besides Tripoli culture he discovered also Chernyakhovskaya culture. He also studied the Scythian and early Slavic culture.
Vikentiĭ Khvoĭka was one of the founders of the Kiev City Museum of Antiquities and Arts - modern National Museum of History of Ukraine . Through his work, the once poor local history museum Tripoli gained popularity.
Today, it is named after one of the streets of the capital, and on the facade of the house №9 Igorevskaya street in which he lived and worked, a memorial plaque.
