Zaporizhzhya city children botanical garden

Zaporozhye City Children`s Botanical Garden - profile educational and extracurricular educational institution. It is a natural reserve, continues to be the only one in the whole of Ukraine, a botanical garden for young naturalists.

History of Botanical Garden

Children`s Botanical Garden in Zaporozhye was founded on not very romantic place - the former city dump - in 1958. However, it would be wrong to assume that the input is open exclusively to the children every summer except students do practical work on the basis of a botanical garden are university students.

Initially, work in the garden themselves engaged young naturalists, and later joined them professionals, who helped buy the current views of the garden.

Botanical Garden today

Today is grown about 4 thousand species of plants on a total area of 12 hectares, built a lot of greenhouses. In the botanical garden there are 18 different clubs: young photographers, florists, zoologists, cactus, bird watchers, mechanics and others.

Recently, management of large-scale garden seriously worried about the restoration. The plans: the creation of a small artificial island on a small river flowing in gardens; creation of new facilities and construction of new pavilions and fountains; Walk the famous people of the city; playground and much more.

In the garden provide tour lasting 45 minutes. Zaporozhye City Children`s Botanical Garden - a permanent place for wedding photo shoots.

Getting there

Children`s Botanical Garden is located in the Shevchenko district on the street Charivna, 11, close to the district department. You can get here by shuttle bus №№ 13, 25, 32, 57, 71 or trams №№ 12, 15 (stop "Botanical Garden"). If you are not too lazy to walk a bit (extra 200 meters) then added those routes №№: 9, 9A, 23, 43, 44, 53, 64, 79, 89. Exit is necessary to stop "street Charivna."
