Church of the Nativity of the Virgin, Pyriatyn
In 1781, by order of the regiment of Captain A. Ilchenko was built in Piryatin Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin. This temple is reminiscent of classic wooden church in the Ukrainian Baroque style of the time. Baroque stucco architraves adorns the walls of the famous cathedral. The temple was rebuilt a bit in the 19th century, and after a relatively recent restoration in 1980, he returned to the original authentic look.
Until 1990, the temple was located museum. Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin is now valid and belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. The temple is a unique and original structure, which is closely linked with the monumental wooden architecture.
