Dormition Cathedral, Gadyach

In the city center Gadyach is the Dormition Cathedral.   In 1634 it built the first wooden church on the marketplace in Gadyach. But over time, worn wooden building. In 1831, in its place was built a stone church on the personal funds of the merchant IK Marulevo. Unfortunately, the temple did not last long. In 1934, during the reign of the Soviet regime it was closed, and in the postwar years, with a foundation dismantled. At the site of the Temple arranged the dance floor.

Much later, in 1991, residents expressed a desire to rebuild the temple in the old place, but the local authorities agree to build no hurry. When restoring one disagreed with troitelstvo cathedral began illegally. The construction itself was legalized 20 November 1997. Six months later, the temple was consecrated.
