Stone defensive structure appeared in the 14th century. The initiators of the construction made by the Polish gentry. For centuries the castle overgrown with powerful bastions and severe towers. Throughout its history it has repeatedly passed from hand to hand, getting a trophy conquerors.

As a result, the medieval castle was destroyed. On its ruins in the 18th century up a new elegant palace built in the Baroque style. He had a magnificent decor and rich decoration. Alas, beauty castle was destined to burn out when the palace was hit by lightning. Brother for his recovery did not.

In Soviet times, the remains of the castle gradually dismantled for building materials. It has survived only a part of the defensive walls, the remains of the palace and the Powder Tower. Today, the picturesque ruins of the ancient fortification, known as the rock beneath Zbuchem attract lovers of antiques from all over Ukraine.
