Nicholas Church, Terebovlia

Nicholas Church was built in the late 16th century and one of the oldest buildings of the city. During numerous wars church was repeatedly destroyed and then restored. In the 30s of the 18th century the church underwent another restructuring. Was demolished the old church portal, which was built on the site of the bell tower with seven bells.   Nicholas Church is a rare combination of the time: the temple and fortress. In peacetime, ruled the service, and in case of danger weapon inserted into narrow slits located on the upper tier of the special combat. Today it is quite difficult to observe because of the new roof, which appeared after the reconstruction in 2009. It is almost completely closed it.

Today, the church belongs to the Greek Catholics, and   within its walls stored copy of the miraculous icon of Our Lady, the original of which was previously here.
