Church of St. Mary, Chertkov

One of the religious centers of the Ternopil region is the temple of the Holy Intercession in the city of Chortkiv . The church was built in 1905 at the expense of the parishioners at the site of the wooden church. The project of the church in classic style with rich decoration was designed by the architects of Lviv with the participation of local builder A. Drazhnovskogo.

Legend has it that as soon as a new church was consecrated, in the courtyard there was a miraculous power. Above it put the chapel of Our Lady. Later, it was attached to the pool. Another incredible thing happened in 1944. An enemy shell struck the wall of the temple, but the icon of the Mother of God is not affected. Belltower set near the temple in 1996, its height is 40 meters. It is crowned by a gilded dome of the bell tower.
