Old Castle, Old Zbarazh
History Zbarazh castle dates back to the late 14th century, when a wooden fortress on the site surrounding the old Russian colony, Prince D. Koribut built a castle of broken stone. Strengthening reliably protect the residents of Old Zbarazh from the enemy.
On the orders of the new owner of the castle F. Nesvitski in 1434, the city was walled. In 1474, the city fell into the Tartar hordes, and the castle was destroyed. Soon, the citadel has been restored, but after the next four attacks Tatar army strengthening completely destroyed. From the 17th to the 20th century ruins of the inhabitants of the town were demolished for the construction of roads and outbuildings.
In 1991 on the site of the castle it was a memorable memorial. Today the site of the former castle is available for study by archaeologists. The remains of the once massive strengthening under a layer of earth, only rarely preserved areas of the basement.
