Budanov`s Castle

Budanov Castle is located in the village of Budanov Ternopil region. The history of the castle dates back several centuries. The first mention of it occurs in 1575, when it was burned by the Tatars.
Initially, the castle was wooden. Already in the early 17th century, after the destruction of numerous rearrangements and its rebuilt in stone in the shape of a trapezoid. Throughout its history the castle was repeatedly destroyed and captured. Since 1765, when the village and the castle became the property of the genus Potocki, construction reinstated. From one wall of fortifications was built church. In 1846, on the basis of the castle was founded a convent.
Under Soviet rule from 1945 to 1950 in the castle it was taken by the medical institution. Since 1990, it began the restoration of the church, when he was sent to the Orthodox community.
