Vatutin Monument

The monument to General Vatutin is located at the entrance to the Mariinsky park . It is grand in size, unique work of art in honor of a great man and a hero. The size of the monument (height 8.5 meters) and open the greatness of the man himself. The monument was erected on January 25 in 1948. The sculpture is made of granite, and the pedestal - black labradorite. He built a work by sculptor EV Vuykevich and architect Y. Belopol`skii. In the sculpture bears the inscription: "Hero of the Soviet Union General Vatutin by the Ukrainian people."

The Army General Vatutin was 1922. But in wartime, I was able to show all the strength and breadth of leadership talent. All tasks assigned to it by the General Staff, is usually performed brilliantly. The biggest of his victory - the liberation of Kiev from Nazi oppression biennium.
