Obelisk of the Hero City of Kyiv

In Kiev, Victory Square, stands the 43-meter obelisk. This is a reminder of one of the most tragic pages in the history of the city - the heroic defense of Kiev was bravely held during the Second World War.

71 days resisted the Nazis, Soviet troops, 700,000 people were killed, protecting mother of Russian cities. For services to the Motherland, Kiev was awarded the title "Hero City" and "Gold Star". In 1982, the most beautiful square of the city erected a magnificent obelisk engraved with the image of two commemorative awards.
