Pokrovska Church, Priorka

Under the arches of the temple worshipers gather more than a hundred years. Pyatikupolny Church, built in pseudo-Russian style, appeared in the early 20th century on the site of a wooden three-tiered temple.

Built her whole world, because most of the places of worship were built not at public expense, and with funds donated by merchants, nobles, clergy and ordinary parishioners. Common people heaving gravity on his shoulders, bricks for construction of the tray even children.

Lots of things for the new church borrowed from dismantled wooden church - iconostasis, bells, altars, church utensils. Former church walls even managed to build two houses, one of which is preserved in the Church to this day.

Despite unleashed revolutions and wars, the church retained its appearance. Prayer in the walls of the temple almost interrupted only in the late 30`s, he served three years vegetable store. The interior of the injured, managed to survive only with the face of the doors of the iconostasis of the Archangel Michael.

But now the church vaults, rushed for 30 yards up, frescoed with images of faces of the saints and subjects taken from the Holy Scriptures. The main decoration is a magnificent iconostasis.

Today in the church there are three altars in honor of the Holy Virgin, St. Nicholas, St. George. Earlier in the temple priests hold services autocephalous church and the Old Believers. Now the Church of the Intercession belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
