Holy Cross Church, Kyiv
In Kiev located at the hem Holy Cross Church, which was built on the money of local artisans in the 1746-1748 biennium. Church of the tree stood for more than 60 years and were destroyed by the terrible fire in 1811. According to eyewitnesses of the events, the structure of the church was destroyed completely. The once beautiful building was only the foundation.
Construction of the new church began in the same 1811. This temple, in order to avoid repetition of the tragic history, decided to erect a stone. Exactly in this church in 1891, was baptized by the famous and loved by many Russian writer Mikhail Bulgakov.
Drastic changes in the internal church interior occurred in 1914. New murals on the walls of the temple resembles the work featured in Vladimir Cathedral in Kiev . The first floor of the temple is also used for Sunday school, open to the public audience.
