Trukhanov island
Trukhanov Island - an island on the Dnieper River, which at the moment is a recreational area of Kiev . Its total area is 450 hectares. The island is connected with the right bank of the city pedestrian bridge.
It is said that the name comes from the island Trukhanova behalf of the Polovtsian Khan Tugorhana, as in the 11th century it was the residence of his daughter - the wife of Prince Svatopluk.
