Uzhanskyi National Park

Uzhansky National Park   is a part of the world`s only Ukrainian-Polish-Slovak Biosphere Reserve "Eastern Carpathians", which is located in the mountain range. Slovaks have a similar park - "Mountain Valley", in Poland - National Park "Bieszczady". Although he Uzhansky Park appeared in 1999, it was established on the basis of two landscape parks - "Stuzhytsya" and "Quiet", named for the nearby settlements. These parks were created in 1908 in the Austro-Hungarian times. The purpose of their creation was the protection of forests.

To date, the area of ​​the park is almost 40 thousand hectares (or rather 39159 ha), of which 14.9 thousand - to remote areas.   Three thousand hectares spread ancient beech-fir forests, spring, is perhaps the main value of the park. No less richly represented and fauna: lynx, hares, deer, bears, foxes, wild boars, more than 82 species of birds. Several species listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, as well as the International Red List as endangered.

In Uzhansky National Park you can discover the   karst caves and even see the famous Knyaginyansky meteorite that fell in this region in 1866. There is also a separate route, allowing to see the largest sample of this celestial body - 279 kg. In addition, tourists are attracted here many health databases and natural sources ("NAFTA" or "Narzan"), which is inside the park there are more than 15. Of the architectural monuments here are six wooden churches, taken under state protection as masterpieces of folk art.
