Assumption church, Limanskoe

Assumption Church is one of the architectural monuments of Ukraine, it is located in a small town Limanskoe in the Odessa region. It was built back in 1901 the Germans were Catholics. The architecture of the church reminds Cathedral in Austria.

Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was one of the most beautiful and monumental churches in the south   Ukraine. Neo-Renaissance building augmented by two twin towers of 60 meters high. Stained glass throwing colored highlights on the column and expensive altar, statues of St. Anthony and Jesus Christ. The interior decoration was so gorgeous that look at it gathered pilgrims from all around. Church existed until 1944, the same year it was closed. After that, the church building was used as a sports hall and the village club, and then was abandoned.

At the moment of its former greatness were massive walls that hold a set of temple. But even in this form, the building impresses with its size and striking contrast with the surrounding buildings.
