Museum sugar factory in Chervone

History Museum of the sugar factory
The plant was built in the town red in 1848, and was one of the first refineries in Ukraine. The first owners of the plant was the family of Count Grokhol`skiy. Later, the family of industrialists Tereshchenko acquired plant in Grokhol`skiy. Tereschenko at the time engaged in forestry and grain business, and the time to understand what to invest in a promising direction - the sugar industry. After purchasing the plant was modernized and equipped with advanced technologies of the time. Fyodor Tereshchenko interested in aviation and aircraft built studio. Nearby was located the racetrack, which is used in airfield.
Sugar refineries survived to this day and continues to successfully perform the task, unlike many of its neighbors. Incidentally, Chervonskyy sugar factory was one of the first where a computer implemented process control system.

On the fourth floor of the factory is a museum, which has two rooms.
- In the first room, you can view the history and activities of the Tereshchenko family. They find photos and desks handmade Theodore Tereshchenko, drawings and graphics for aviamaysterni. You can also learn about Tereshchenko contribution to aviation.
- The second room is available with material fact about the sugar factory. They collected the tools and materials from the time the plant, awards, photos and maps. You can view different periods of the plant.
But the most valuable thing you can see in the shops where factory workers happy to show you a technique that is still used in the work - two types of scales late 19th century, plunger pump 1930, operating electrical appliances 60-70 years of the 20th century.
Interesting facts about the museum
According to some reports, in his Tereshchenko aviamaysterni worked closely with Sikorsky - outstanding aircraft designer 20th century. Together they managed to build planes that were used in World War II. But most interesting is that the means of Tereshchenko Sikorsky built the largest aircraft of the time - "Ilya Muromets".

If you drive your own transport, then the best option would be to go from Zhitomir Berdichev in the direction on the highway E583 (M21), return to ring Berdichev and move towards Kashperivky. After 11 kilometers turn left towards Zakutyntsi - Krasivka - Red. In the Red move along the main road to exit on Andrushivka and the last junction turn right, past the lake you will leave the plant.
If you use public transport, you can get a bus from Zhytomyr, the approximate duration of the move - 1,5 hours.
