People`s History Museum in Radomyshle

People`s History Museum of the city Radomyshl was founded in 1959. The building in which it is located, was built in the late 19th century in the style of classicism. The museum is located in the city center.

First, the house belonged to a merchant of the first guild Gorensheynu Gerar. At the entrance to the door and now you can see the wrought-iron boards, which are monuments of blacksmith art. During the Soviet era in the house were located communal apartments, the building managed to keep the miracle. Already in 1970, regional museum was awarded the title "National Museum".

In the museum there are about two thousand different pieces. There are vintage and contemporary photographs of the life of the city in different periods and times, historical documents and other objects that show everything that happened in Radomyshl from 17 to 20 century.

In 1963, the city excavated related to the study of primitive people living here. In place of the finds are now a monument. Most of the material found at this point was taken to a museum in Kiev and Zhitomir .

The thematic expositions of the museum, you can see the remains of prehistoric animals: mammoth tusks, skull round, red deer antlers and others. Since the rooms are too small to arrange all the exhibits and displays separately, can be seen next to the stands with different themes. The national museum of local lore has materials dedicated to Holodomor, World War II veterans and local celebrities. You can also see the layout papirni - a device used to make the first paper to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra . Later settled here a paper factory, produces the first paper in Ukraine.

Although this museum exhibits there are not too many, but the institution became the center of cultural and artistic life of the city. It often hosts various events and exhibitions.
