Memorable sign LOVYAGIN II
The memorial sign to Ivan Lovyagin Izotovich - a beautiful decorative sculpture installed on Lovyagin house in which he lived in the 19th century. Now here is the historic city center . Outstanding mayor forever entered the history of Yekaterinoslav (Dnepropetrovsk modern) as an experienced businessman, a great handyman and appropriately managed. He was loved by the townspeople, and many knew him personally (Ivan Izotovich elected to the post of mayor of 7 times in 15 years).
Bronze composition
Sculpture on the house Lovyagin was made of bronze by local authors Zobenko Alexander. He portrayed Katerynoslav chapter in the full growth, stands in front of the citizens with the official sheet and a cane in his right hand. Complementing the overall picture lamppost gas lighting, which was saturated with the city in those years. The entire structure is just over a meter in height, and beneath it is a memorial inscription on the merits Lovyagin.
The governor of Ekaterinoslav
He first took up his post of managing director in 1848 and held it for three years. During this time, Ivan Izotovich time to bring order to the streets of Yekaterinoslav. As an experienced administrator, it debugs the financial system of the city and making their own investments (selfless) to improve the necessary infrastructure. In 1854, he was elected again and it`s the most difficult times for the city: the beginning of the epidemic of cholera, scurvy and destructive wave of the Crimean War. LOTS to war was the border town, dividing the north and south of the city of the empire. To the city remained calm Lovyagin again using personal funds for the construction of a military hospital. He repeats his feat in economic matters and establishes a city famous for the aristocratic, advanced and accurate.
100th anniversary of Ekaterinoslav
At the end of life`s journey Lovyagin published a small essay on art, on the pages that describe the city and its events for the first 100 years of existence. Autobiographical work is called "Jubilee Ekaterynoslavsky sheet" with the content of authentic stories about the beloved city Lovyagin.
