Museum of the History of the University of Railway Transport

Museum of History of the University of Railway Transport in Dnepropetrovsk was opened in 1982 at Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport.

The collection includes about 1,000 items, they are placed in an area of ​​220 square meters. Exhibits sanctify the educational history of the University, as one of the main universities of the country, as well as the stages of its development.

The Institute was created in March 1930 on the basis of polytechnic and one of the faculties of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute. In 1934 the first graduates - graduates 190 engineers.

During the Great Patriotic War the university was evacuated to Novosibirsk, where he continued to train highly qualified specialists. However, in his native Dnepropetrovsk, a significant part of the university`s buildings were severely damaged.

After the war, the Institute of Transportation Engineers resumes its activities. In the period from 1950 to 1970, it was commissioned new academic buildings and a dormitory, a sports complex with swimming pool, stadium and other facilities.
