Church of the Intercession, Orekhov

Intercession Church is located in the town of Orekhov Zaporozhye region. The temple is quite old and was founded in 1873 and its construction ended only in 1876. History of the Intercession Church in Orekhov

After the revolution, the Soviet authorities destroyed all the temples, and in 1925 it touched the Intercession Church. With it removed the dome, and in 1930 the premises of the temple was completely destroyed. When the Germans came, orthodox parish opened again, and so it still exists.

Already in 1991, all the property passed into the possession of the church community. That same year, the parishioners began to ask for the return of the two buildings that have survived on the territory of the church and their pleas were heard. Since 1992, preparations began for the rebuilding of the temple, all the projects and designs created from surviving photographs of the temple. Later moved Dollezhal monument that stood on the site of the Church of the Intercession. The height of the church with a cross on the dome is 33 meters. In 2009, the feast of the Protection Protection Church consecrated. All construction and restoration work carried out on the donations of benefactors and parishioners themselves.
