Fountain Square on veche

Veche area (in Soviet times - Soviet area, above - Square "Kratterovka", named after the Austrian Krattera Francis for his contribution to the development of the city) in Ivano-Frankivsk is famous for its musical fountain, which, since the construction was modified three times.

Built and opened in the early 50s of the 20th century, it had the appearance of semigrannogo pond decorated with cones in the middle of the cup.

By the end of 1960 at this place was built the station telephone and telegraph communications and fountain turned into a rectangular pool with an iron gate, which had deer silhouettes. However, he did not like the locals, and the new, well-kept version, showed to gaze citizens in 1981. Fountain had two bowls, which are at different heights, and were decorated with wrought images of different sea creatures.

The third - modern - version of the fountain was designed under the leadership of the city architect Orestes Kos. Its opening was held on 21 August 2004 and was timed to the Independence Day of Ukraine. The construction is a round pool with a bowl under which you can stand and admire the waterfall ahead.

At night, the fountain overflows with different colors and "dancing" under the musical composition. Pulsating music cascades made Veche area a favorite meeting place and walks Ivano-frankovtsev.
