Museum Mary Pidgiryanki

In the picturesque Hutsul village White Oslavy proud of their countrywoman - Ukrainian poet and writer, cultural worker Mary Lambert-Dombrovskaya. She wrote under the pseudonym Marika Pidgiryanka. In his native village street named after her. Here, next to the Mother Church, the monument of wooden architecture of the 18th century, is a museum of Mary Pidgiryanki. It is located in the first village of the brick house in 1900, now it is the residence of the priest.

The museum, occupying three rooms, the exhibits telling about the life and work of Mary Lambert-Dombrovskaya (1881-1963). Stored lifetime editions of her books and personal belongings. Total 850 pieces.

Maria Pidgiryanka has an amazing thirst for self-education. She was born in the family of a forester, where four children grew. His father was able to educate only the eldest son. Maria finished only primary school, but due to its persistence, passed the exams for the first eight-year course, then - a female teacher`s seminary. For over 40 years she has dedicated to children. She was in love with his native land, wrote poems, most of which is also addressed to young readers. By the way, Ivano-Frankivsk puppet theater also bears the name of Mary Pidgiryanki.

Before the museum - a monument to the poet

In 2014, before the museum installed a monument to the poet. This figure is in full growth, in one hand holding chitanku Maria, in another - a branch of viburnum.
