Nicholas Church, Bershad

Nicholas Church in Berezhany - architectural creations of the 17th century, which have survived virtually unchanged. Once the temple was the center of the church fraternity today - the current church, which gladly accepts all visitors to his abode.

History Nicholas Church

The wooden Nicholas Church is located on the southern edge of Berezhany. Once in the area were Adamivka suburbs, which dates back to 1584. The main feature of contemporary suburbs was an old wooden church of St. Nicholas.

Temple built in Galician style in 1691. Since it became the center of ecclesiastical fraternity in the southern suburb of Berezhany, which was founded in 1600. According to legend, the church property was brought from the Hutsul region where exchanged their grain and bread.

Church of St. Nicholas lived to this day almost unchanged. One thing that greatly influenced her beauty - is covered with galvanized iron roof.

The Church is trydolnoyu, the dome has a rather complicated shape and consists of two hall - rectangular lower and upper-cut. The architecture of the temple pronounced features of Galician folk architecture.

Today it is a functioning temple. Two-tiered bell tower, made of stone. There is speculation that it was built much later than the church.

Nicholas Church located on the street Shevchenko. Along the street is T2004 trail that goes from the railway station Bershad. She can be reached Lesya Ukrainian Street and turn right.
