Cave Ugrinskaya, Uhryniv
Ugrinskaya Cave is one of the most beautiful caves in Ukraine . It is located in the Ternopil region, 2 km from the entrance to the cave Mlynky . It is a geological natural monument of local importance, the object of natural reserve fund area.
The history of discovery and exploration of the cave Ugrinskoy
The discovery happened by chance karst cave, near the village of Uhryniv. On the hill working for local landowners Pan Potocki mined gypsum. After extraction it melted into flour used to produce a variety of jewelry: ashtrays, boxes and more.
One day workers punched a hole in the mountain, but did not pay attention to it. The discovery of the cave and would not take place, if not a teacher of the local school Otetsky. He became interested in a hole in the mountain, I began to dig stroke and was in a huge cave. This happened in 1934. In the next two years there is an active development of the cave. The first tourists visited the cave in 1935.
Even then, all routes led visitors guide, whose story was about the unique history of the discovery of karst miracle Ternopil region. When the cave acted book reviews, everyone could share their experiences.
For the first time a full plan of all strokes cave was recorded in 1962 by scientists from the Institute of Mineral Resources of the city Simferopol, under the direction of Dublyansky.
The geology of the cave
