Postal Street, Krivoy Rog

US Street is one of the oldest streets of Krivoy Rog. But now it is called the Avenue of Karl Marx. So if you want to walk around one of the oldest streets in the city, look for it still have by that name.

Postal History and Monuments street

It emerged at the post road late 18th century. This fact led to the future and the street name. It is located in the historical center of Kryvyi Rih on the left bank of the river Saksagan.

In the early 20th century US street was the center of cultural and economic life of the city. It was located a lot of shops and warehouses. The houses were built in a modern brick and South Russian styles. Shortly before the First World War tilings cobblestone street was also installed lights on it. It was here at the beginning of the century open theater "Colosseum" and "Magic."

During the Soviet period, in 1923, the street got its name US - Karl Marx Avenue. This name is preserved to this day. In 1932, this street was built drama.

During World War Krivoy Rog suffered heavy losses, including architecture. On the mail street was destroyed many buildings have survived to our times original unit buildings. Restoration street began after the liberation of Krivoy Rog in 1944.

50 years of the last century witnessed the fact that in this period the ZIP Street Post Office building erected houses "Kryvbasshahtoprohidky" and "Pivdenrudy", "Dzerzhynskruda" hotel "Metallurg".
