In the center of Dnepropetrovsk is a beautiful park Lazarus Globa. The city owes its existence Zaporozhye Cossack captain. Even before I founded Katerynoslav Katerina (now Dnepropetrovsk), in the early 8th century settled on the banks of the Dnieper glorious captain troops Zaporizhzhya - Lazar Globa. He was not only a good Cossack, but also an avid gardener. Much water has flowed since then, but the gardens that Globa planted remained. Lower Garden was on the territory of the park named after Taras Shevchenko, and the Upper Garden occupied the lands of modern Lazarus Globa Park.
Lazar Globa sold Lower Garden Prince Potemkin, and he continued to equip the Upper Garden, planted a lot of fruit trees. Say Cossack had lived more than a hundred years. On the probable site of his burial monument was erected. It is next to an old oak tree that is planted Globa. Garden passed from hand to hand, and each brings its contribution to its development. Thus, during the time of Alexander I from around the world brought rare seedlings of trees and flowers, and in 1938 was founded the summer theater on the water. It was built in the form of seashells on a pond of natural origin. Today in the theater you can see a variety of concerts and performances, competitions and festivals. At the same time around the pond was built first in Ukraine children's railway, which is now operational. Your kids will love it! They can also take a walk on the playground, feed the swans or ducks that live in the pond. Sorry, that was lost a beautiful monument to Samson, the mythical hero who graced this pond today in its place is a monument of the Little Prince by Antoine Saint-Exupery.
A long tradition of respecting each year in the park hold exhibitions gardening. Here are open rides and numerous entertainment venues. Previously, Park was named after Chkalov. And in 1992, the park was named after its founder - Lazarus Globa. Visit this lovely place with family or friends. There is always a party atmosphere.
