The Museum of Books and Printing of Ukraine, Kyiv

Unique Museum of book publishing is located on the territory of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra . Place the base of the museum was not chosen by chance. As it is here continually worked over 300 years Lavra typography.

The total exhibition area - 930 square meters, three exhibition halls static display and two exhibition. The museum has collected a rich treasure of literary culture of the Ukrainian people, which is about 56,000 units. Exposition sheds light on the history of Russian books and publishing since the time of Kievan Rus to the present day. Exhibited printed books of church and cultural educators as Peter Graves, Innocent Gisel, Lazarus Baranovych; copies of the first Cyrillic books, wooden and brass flared engravers, individual printing presses. The emphasis is on the fact that the printing press has raised Ukrainian identity and cultural level of the people.

The museum also displays periodic exhibitions, there are meetings, reviews and thematic tours, lectures. Visiting the museum is possible on any day except Tuesday, from 10:00 to 17:00.
