Assumption Church, Ozaryntsi

Church of the Assumption in Ozaryntsi was founded in the second half of the 19th century. According to some sources, it was built before the 1900s, according to others - in 1910. But despite more than a century, the temple still remains unfinished.
Locals often refer to one of the legends of the region, when one recalls the history of the construction of the church. Thus, in the second half of the 19th century parishioners traveled many lords, to beg for the construction of a large temple of the village, as the oldest and most beloved Christian church was destroyed by large-scale fires. Previous wooden building was laid down back in 1719, so the parishioners Ozaryntsi claim for itself spacious and comfortable walls for conventional worship. Over time, the city Metropolitan responded to requests of people and sent them to the architect. But, unfortunately, the funds allocated city, did not have the full completion of the temple, and the architect left with nothing, predicting short life unfinished building them. His prophecy was fulfilled half: service held here a couple of years, and since 1930 the temple was used as an industrial warehouse.
Today, beautiful body with semicircular walls of the church remains unclaimed. On its pyramidal roof continues to dominate the Christian cross, but inside the temple completely lost its traditional church interior. Nearby you can see surviving monument of architecture - the Church of Elizabeth , which remains in force in Ozaryntsi for several hundred years.
