Dominican Cathedral in Tulchyn

Dominican Church, which is a miniature replica of St. Peter`s Basilica in Rome, was built during the 1786-1817 period. It was built for the Catholic Church at the expense of Stanislaw Potocki.

In 1832, after the Polish uprising, the church was handed over to the Orthodox Church and pereosvyaschen in the Cathedral of the Nativity.

With the Dominican church related romantic love story of Count Potocki and Sophia de Witt, for which it was created the famous Sophia Park in Uman. This is where the wedding took place couple.

Today Dominican Church is a functioning Orthodox Church. Front of the church is a monument to Alexander Suvorov.
