Palace Biesiadeckis
Palace of the Princes Besyadetskih in Lviv was built in the mid-18th century. It was the country house of a rich kind of Galician landowners. Its location near the city gates, away from the city center, out of the ordinary has created a true masterpiece of architecture of the estate. The size of the original structure significantly different from today, however, as the size of the entire surrounding area. According to some archival data, in fact the name of princes - "Ulenetskie." This discrepancy in the spelling and pronunciation is due to a complex mixture of translation and dialects common in Lviv in the 18th century. The palace was built by architect Rico de Tirzheli. The building occupies a large area, its main facilities are located on the same line. Initially, the idea of the architect was brought to a flourishing baroque style. Today, however, it is difficult to see traces of the many alterations and restorations. Princes Potocki, Bielski, Komorowski became the owners of the house and every time altered the building of the new fashion (1860-1886 years). There were completed three-storey outbuilding, courtyard, side structures. The most significant renovation took place in 1935, it was then that the palace acquired its present shape.
The modern history of the Palace
During the Soviet era the building housed the regional library, a lot has been lost in the internal environment, lost a unique interior rooms because of frequent repairs. After 2000, the entire palace complex became the property of Lviv Ivan Franko University. The new owners decided to complete restoration of the building, which is still ongoing.
