House of Writers of Ukraine (Mansion Lieberman)

The building, which since the 50s of the last century has been a haven for writers all over Ukraine, which once was built by order of the former mayor of St. Petersburg Fyodor Trepova. After a failed assassination attempt on his life, this well-known figure has decided to retire and moved to Kiev .

But the owner of the mansion Trepoff was not long. 20 years of luxury house bought fabulously wealthy sugar Lieberman. He rebuilt the house on your own.

After the Revolution, the building often changed owners. He was busy headquarters counterintelligence, military district commissariat, and even a kindergarten. Here acted Sovnarkom, in whose memory a long time on the facade adorned coat of arms of the USSR, the house promote them. Stalin ...
