Chortova Rock (Devil Rock)

Devil`s Rock is a high mountain, natural origin, consisting of limestone and other rocks. Today it is a favorite place of locals from nearby villages, famous for his spectacular species. Nature of the region allows citizens to organize picnics and camping here.

According to historical information, the Devil`s Rock - is the location of the ancient defensive fortress. During the battle with the Tatars on the tower of the fortress allowed to control territory thanks to a large area of ​​observation from a height of Devil`s rock.   For centuries, impregnable, it serves as an excellent base from which to track the movement of enemy troops. It is at its foot there were decisive battles of the nearby cities. Remnants of the fortress were discovered in the 18th century, but until today traces strengthening left.

Devil`s Rock is recognized as the highest point in all of Lviv region, its height is 418 meters above sea level.
