Church of the Nativity of the Virgin, Kozelshina
Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin in Kozelschina is a monumental temple with beautiful architecture and interesting history. It was built in 1906 year. Construction was carried out with the involvement of a lot of money, and with the participation of the Grand Dukes of the Russian Empire, including the king himself.
The impressive design of the church is the hallmark of a small village. Architecture is selected in the traditional manner with the details of the Ukrainian Baroque eclecticism.
The main attraction is the magnificent cathedral Kozelschinskaya icon - a legendary painting creators 18 century Italian origin. It depicts the Mother of God, healing the dying daughter of Count Kapnist. Since then, the icon is considered miraculous and it is in the central hall of the Cathedral.
Also, you should get acquainted with the unique wall paintings created by a brilliant master M. Murashko. The painting was preserved from the time of construction. You also need to pay attention to the beautiful iconostasis, developed by the same author.
