Church reformers Beregove
Undoubtedly, one of the most prominent attractions of the city Beregovo Transcarpathian is Church reformers, featuring an impressive capacity of: at the same time in the temple may be located more than a thousand parishioners. Erected in 1775, the church often reworked and rebuilt, and a year after the arrival of Soviet power (in 1918) almost completely burned. In 1924 it was decided to restore to its original form. Today, in conjunction with the opposite building of the City Court , Church reformers is the main decoration of the city Beregove Kossuth Square.
In the main tower above the entrance to the church are the clock and bells. By the way, the reformers would not be reformers, if not original in their views on the interpretation of religion. Therefore, the spiers of the church is decorated with non-traditional crosses, and cockerels. The exterior finish of the temple is quite restrained. The only deviation from the monotonous white walls - orange border, gives the building a certain solemnity. The facade of the church is decorated with two plaques: the memory of Bishop Stephen Gelei Cato (author of the first Hungarian grammar) and the priest-founder of the Reformation Beregovsky Balazs Rondane.
