Geographical Centre of Ukraine

In 2005 was officially installed the geographical center of Ukraine. He is located in Shpola Cherkassy region.   Scientists in the field of cartography and geodesy identified this place the center of Ukraine.

Until that time, the geographical center was considered a very different point - township Dobrovelichkivka Kirovograd region. This was evidenced delivered in 1989 monument. After further measurements, the geographic center of the city turned out to Shpola.

Memorial itself is not in the city, and in a field near the village of Maryanovka and 3 km from the highway direction of Cherkasy - Uman . In 2012, the place began to build historical-geographical complex which so called "geographical center of Ukraine." When entering the city Shpola a granite sign, which shows the outline of the territory of Ukraine, and it says "Shpolyanschina - the geographical center of Ukraine."

This is an interesting place, where it is necessary to get to be in the geographical heart of the country.
