Sutkovetskyy lock

History Sutkovetskoho Castle

Neighboring Yarmolyntsi first mentioned in historical documents in 1407 year. The city transferred ownership of King Wladyslaw Jagiello such a Hodkovi. Dakhno Yarmolyntsi stayed in, and it became known Yarmolynskym and Theodore went to the village Sutkivtsi, and he was called Sutkovetskym.

We know that the castle was built with the assistance of Theodore Sutkovetskoho the first half of the 15th century. Moreover - new castle was built in place of wood. Sutkivtsi placed on so-called Kuchmanskomu path fortification in this place was absolutely necessary. Tatar raids, unfortunately, not uncommon. In 1567 the castle was virtually destroyed.

But in the late 17th century the castle lost its defensive function and begins to break down. By descendants survived only fragments of the castle. Now over Ushytsya can only see the ruins of the south-eastern tower - all that remained of the once impregnable castle.
