Museum Kobrin, Bolekhiv

The city Bolekhiv is a museum of the famous Ukrainian writer Natalia Kobrin, founded in 2005. The museum is a branch of the Historical Museum Bolekhiv.

History of the museum Natalia Kobrin

Created at the initiative of the local museum of local lore and Roman Skvoriya librarian, who has long worked on the collection of materials about the life and work of H. Kobrin. Initially, the city he founded a memorial area dedicated to the work of the writer. Over time, the local library was given a room where he kept memorabilia and creative works of N. Kobrin. The exhibition in the library room, has worked for years 1950-1964.

Natalia Kobrin was not only a well-known Ukrainian writer, but also an ardent feminist, a fighter for women`s rights and gender equality for women in society. In Bolekhov she lived for 30 years, where she wrote most of his literary and critical works on current topics of society of those times, as well as several works for the future of the collection "Tales."

It is a museum in the building where once was a Jewish synagogue. To the left of the main entrance, in the 90s of the 20th century was a monument to the writer - a bas-relief, around which there is a small flower beds.

The museum collection

The museum collection consists of memorabilia related to the life and work of H. Kobrin. It presents: letters, essays, literary works, wall portraits of the writer, the furniture of those times, towels handmade.

Museum Bolekhov has the status of a monument of history and belongs to the Memorial Museum. Entrance to the museum is free, you can visit any day of the week except Saturday.
