Shestovytske town, Shestovytsya
The structure Shestytovytskoho archaeological complex includes the settlement, two mounds division (District of residence artisans and merchants).
History of settlement
Shestovytske settlement dates back to the 10th century. It is important that this Scandinavian settlement there is no mention of European, Scandinavian and Ruthenian chronicles, as its historical name is still unknown.
The first excavations are conducted in 1925-1927 years employee Chernihiv Historical Museum , Peter Smolichev. After the Second World War excavations continued.

Every year the festival of historical fencing "Korovel" and a summer archaeological school, where the practice of 500 undergraduate and postgraduate students from Eastern and Central Europe.
