Mint Castle

Mint Castle

The castle was built on the edge of the village Kvasovo. It is built on the right bank just 100 meters from the river Borzhova was chosen a small hill. The hill that rises above the river level to a height of about 15 meters to ensure appropriate protection of the castle from attacking enemies. Historians can not pinpoint the date when they were first laid strengthen the castle, but, based on an analysis of the ruins and written sources, the approximate date of construction of these fortifications dates from 12-13 st. That is why   Castle Myint was named the oldest stone objects not only in the Transcarpathian region, but throughout Ukraine.

At the moment, the castle remained only ruins. The walls that surrounded its territory, destroyed, sometimes up to the castle grounds. Since the castle courtyard elevated compared to the whole surrounding area, how the castle is destroyed, it can be said in different ways, depending on how you look at him from the inside or outside. For example, if you look at the castle courtyard, off the ground, the height of the walls reaches 3-3.5 meters, and when viewed from the outside, then this figure is twice as much, and the walls seem to be sufficiently massive and wide. Do not spare the time and internal construction, it is now impossible to imagine what they were before.

Inspect the outside of the castle is problematic because all the slopes of the hill on which the castle is now built on farmlands or almost completely overgrown with trees and shrubs.
