Odessa Museum of Alexander Pushkin

One of the first in Odessa in the 20s of the 19th century opened the hotel «Hotel du Nord», owned by a merchant Charles Sukkar. In July 1823 one of the issues settled by none other than the great poet Alexander Pushkin, who lived here for a month. Afterwards the hotel turned into a memorial museum of Pushkin and Italian street on which the house became Pushkin.

It is no exaggeration to say that the museum is unique. It is here that were born such creations as "Gypsies", two and a half chapters of "Eugene Onegin", also finished in Odessa Pushkin`s poem "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai". In addition, fans of the poet, and even far from poetry will be interesting to see preserved rare lifetime editions of the works of Pushkin autographed pictures. The exposition includes portraits of the poet`s contemporaries, old engravings of Odessa Pushkin period, and many other unique things that keep the spirit of the era of the great poet.

Drive past the sights of Odessa is practically impossible, at least because the front of the house there is a monument to Pushkin. Museum visitors in the tens of thousands of people each year, indicating that the undying interest in the work of Pushkin. The museum pass book and art exhibitions, meetings with creative people, as well as the evening of Pushkin`s poetry.
