Imperial decree was not accidental: Alexander wanted to strengthen its border in Bessarabia, so Akkerman unfolded military construction. The officer corps and soldiers` barracks were made in oriental style and used for its intended purpose almost 170 years.
In the mid-90s of the last century there has been bred Ukrainian military unit, and the architectural complex of the Defense Ministry, it was decided to transfer to communal ownership of Belgorod-Dniester.
